How do I know what length of necklace to order?
I recommend measuring around your neck to determine which size you would like. You could do this using an existing necklace you own, a string, or even shoelace! Find your desired length and then lay it along a ruler.
Alternatively, you can get a rough estimate of where the necklace would lay by referencing the chart below. Pendants will “pull” the chain slightly longer into a ‘V’ rather than a ‘U’. Keep in mind that handmade jewelry and different body types will have various outcomes.
For a beautiful layered look, choose necklaces in varying lengths. I would recommend 1.5-2″ difference. A 16″ and 18″ necklace will lay about an inch apart when worn.

Please note: lengths given for Malas refer to the distance from the “top” (part that sits behind your neck) to the bottom of the tassel when lying flat, rather than the entire length of the hand-knotted gemstones. Most Malas will sit around 30″-33″ as illustrated above, with a few inches of additional length due to the tassel.

How do you decide on a piece, or know which is “right” for you?
Sometimes finding the right piece is as simple as understanding what you are attracted to; we are often drawn to pieces that are meant for us! If multiple malas grab your attention, read the descriptions under each one you are considering. The listings include information about the properties associated with each gemstone. Choose whichever speaks to you, or consider that each may be perfect for you on different days if you’d like to treat yourself to more than one!

Is every mala actually one-of-a-kind?
Yes! I believe malas should be as special and individual to the Sun Spirit wearing them. Some designs that I create may inspire me to make something similar, but there will always be a unique touch to each piece, regardless of simplicity.
Other pieces, such as necklaces and bracelets, may share the same design; however, the natural gemstones essentially make each piece beautifully it’s own.
